Credit Analyst II

We are a growing $2B community bank seeking an experienced Credit Analyst who is energized by financial statements, tax returns, cash flow, collateral, repayment capacity, and the story behind the numbers. This role is ideal for an experienced credit analyst who brings strong analytical judgment, works independently, and is committed to deepening their expertise in credit analysis and underwriting.

You will partner closely with lenders and credit leadership.  Your value will come from objective, well-supported underwriting, thoughtful risk identification, and clear credit presentations that help the bank make sound lending decisions.

What You’ll Do

  • Analyze borrower and guarantor financial statements, tax returns, borrowing base information, rent rolls, collateral documentation, and related financial data.
  • Prepare accurate spreads, global cash flow analysis, repayment capacity analysis, collateral analysis, and risk assessments for commercial, commercial real estate, and/or SBA credit requests.
  • Develop clear, well-supported credit presentations that summarize financial performance, credit strengths, risks, mitigating factors, and recommended structure.
  • Complete renewals, annual reviews, loan modifications, covenant testing, and monitoring of existing credit relationships.
  • Identify trends, exceptions, policy considerations, and early warning indicators that may affect credit quality.
  • Work collaboratively with lenders while maintaining independent judgment and a strong credit discipline.
  • Support consistent underwriting standards, documentation quality, and sound portfolio management practices.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, economics, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Several years of commercial credit analysis, commercial underwriting, loan review, or closely related financial analysis experience.
  • Familiarity with loan policy, regulatory expectations, credit risk ratings, covenants, and portfolio monitoring.
  • Experience with financial spreading software, core banking systems, and credit presentation platforms.
  • Ability to interpret complex financial information and translate it into clear, practical credit conclusions.
  • Comfort asking detailed questions, challenging assumptions, and documenting the “why” behind a credit recommendation.
  • Strong written communication skills and the ability to present analysis in a concise, organized, and balanced manner.
  • A preference for deepening expertise in credit, underwriting, and portfolio risk rather than pursuing a production-focused lending career path.
